Glass-framed small gauge face and underbelly airframe section with blue paintwork from German Junkers JU87 Stuka dive bomber of 5/STG2 shot down on 2nd June 1940 over the Dunkirk pocket
This is a glass-framed small gauge face and a aluminium airframe section that still retains some of its original underbelly light blue camouflage paintwork and a nice pair of clean sections. The parts have ripped and bent by the impact of the crash they are in very solid condition and have been carefully cleaned and retain most of there original colours . It is presented in a glass-fronted box frame, complete with background and aircraft information and numerous photographs, making it perfect for display. The frame measures 9 half inches by 9 half inches in size.The parts are from from German Junkers JU87 Stuka dive bomber of 5/STG2 that was shot down by RAF Spitfire at 7pm on the 2nd June 1940 while attacking British ships off Dunkirk during the evacuation of the Dunkirk Pocket.
The German Ju87 stuka was shot down by Squadron Leader Lees of Number 72 squadron and crashed near Coudekerque. Both the crew were killed they were Leutnant H.Busch and Gefreiter E.Roock. The famous German dive bomber was shot down while attacking the Dunkirk Beaches during operation Dinamo.
