This is a German battle damaged mg 34/42 single ammunition tin a patronenkasten 34 which has remains of its maker mark and dated 1940 on the lid. The tin which is in lovely relic condition with a few small holes and a bit of corrosion, the lock is broken but the tin lid does open and close properly and it does still have its handle in place. The tin has a small amount of original paintwork it still has lots of original colour and black paintwork that can be seen on the aluminium made can. The can has been very well cleaned it is very solid not braking up or falling apart a very nice example of this mg ammunition tin battlefield recovered. The ammunition tin was used by the 14th Panzer Division recovered near the town of Kalach on the Stalingrad front 1942 in Russia
