An exceptionally rare German brass shell case for the 18.5cm Versuchsmörser, listed in historical records as the 18.5cm experimental howitzer L/22 (Krupp). The term "Versuchsmörser" translates from German as "experimental mortar".
The case is in superb condition, with just one small mark to the base, and is an incredibly rare surviving example. It displays beautifully and would make an outstanding addition to any artillery or experimental weapons collection.
