This is a very rare nice condition group of mark 2 pilots gunsite parts from the cockpit of the aircraft which are a brass part,bakerite part which has some maker stamps which are clear to see and a section of broken glass from the site.
The parts are in nice condition and retain a lot of there original colours and have been nicely cleaned and have ripped and smashed by the impact of the crash and are perfect for display or any collection the parts are around 2 inches long.These are very rare parts as there is very lttle about from this aircraft as there was only a hand dig has ever been done on the site no dig with a machine or offical dig has ever been done on the site.
The parts come with 2xA5 laminated information card with pictures and diagram and were recovered in 1999 by the aircraft recovery digger the late Mr Alan Brown who visited many crash sites all over Europe for many years and had them mounted on one of his famous wooden boards.
The parts come from RAF Hawker Hurricane Mark I, serial number P2813, was a World War II fighter that flew with No. 73 Squadron during the Battle of France. Flown by Pilot Officer Valcourt Desmond Meredith Roe who survived the shoot down.The aircraft was shot down by a Messerschmitt Bf 109 and crashed near Namur in Belgium.Pilot Officer Roe (Service No. 42530) was subsequently killed in action two days later on May 16, 1940. He is buried at the Choloy War Cemetery in France
That is what is recorded on Mr Browns boards but there is a difference with the offical history which states the aircraft made it back and was abandoned at Reims in France so there defentetly from the aircraft but there is a bit of mystery which one is the crash site.
