This is a very rare and fantastic condition battlefield recovered complete German K98 rifle bayonet still in its scabbard with its leather frog attached as well but this cable tied. The bayonet is complete with its Bakelite handles with the leather frog in 2 parts but still its lovely black colour and solid not braking up or falling apart and overall it is in nice condition for a relic rusty and it has been very nicely cleaned and is in very solid condition perfect for collection and perfect for display.
The bayonet was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle in the Falaise Pocket, Normandy in France 1944. A nice rare relic from the famous Normandy battlefield. The bayonet comes with a 2 x A5 laminated information cards with map.
