Very rare hydraulic ram from a bomb bay door on British RAF Mosquito number ML964 of 105 squadron, shot down 7th July 1944 was on primary target marker mission over the city of Caen in Normandy.

This is a very large steel and aluminium made hydraulic ram from a bomb bay door which top aluminium steel made bracket still has some original green paintwork and a lot of original colour with only light damage.But the ram its self is rusty with some rust holes and damage but is still solid relic condition.The bracket still moves on the ram like it should do the whole part still very solid and not braking up or falling apart and has been very well cleaned the part is 24 inches long by 5 inches wide in size and a very rare one for display or any collection and a lovely find from this famous fighter bomber in fact not found one for sale at all over the years.

The part comes from British RAF Mosquito number ML964 of 105 squadron. The fighter bomber on the 7thJuly 1944 was on primary target marker mission over the city of Caen in Normandy. The Mosquito was attacked and shot down by a German fighter it crashed near Caen. The part comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with picture of the ram in the bomb bay.

The Mosquito was attacked and badly damaged by a German Ju88 fighter, the pilot ordered his navigator to bail out and land in Allied held territory. Unfortunately, the pilot was not able to get out of the burning aircraft. The plane crashed 10 miles north of Caen in Calvados, on the Normandy battlefield of 1944.
