This is a very rare German toolbox for anti-aircraft gun 150cm search light which is a very hard to crate to find. The crate is in very nice condition, with the wood still retaining most of its original black paintwork with its white stamped maker markings on the top of the lid and on one side, though it shows some dirt, discoloration, and minor damage from use. The original wooden spacers are still in place inside the crate with some of there number codes still on but is missing its paper label on the inside of the lid. The crate remains solid, not breaking up or falling apart. It has experienced some very light woodworm, but this has been treated, and the box is well preserved. Both hinges are intact and in good condition; the lock does work properly and the hinges are in good condition and working the lid opens and closes without issue. The metal carry handles are also present and work perfectly. This is a fine example of this unusual crate which is perfect for display or any collection. The crate was found in Dieppe originally used in the Normandy campaign in the summer of 1944.The crate comes with 2 x A5 laminated information cards which shows the original label that would have been in this crate and some translations of what the parts were.
