This is a German MP40 machine gun firing bolt which is rare to find from the battlefield.The bolt is rusty but pretty much complete but is de activated by condition and is very solid and in nice relic condition. A highly recognizable relic, it has been nicely cleaned and is ideal for display or as part of any collection.
The bolt was recovered from a field near Trun, believed to be a pit dug by the Allies where large amounts of German equipment were discarded and buried following the Battle of the Falaise Pocket, Normandy, France, in 1944. A rare and interesting relic from the famous Normandy battlefield, it comes with an A5 laminated information sheet.
