This is a German MG 42 machine gun barrel flash suppressor from the end of the barrel as shown on the diagram on the 2nd card.

The part is deactivated by condition obviously plain to see but still have some original colour remains and even small bit of black paintwork. The machine gun part is in nice condition for a relic it is only very lightly rusty and a bit pitted but it has been very nicely cleaned and is in very solid condition perfect for collection and perfect for display and is 4 inches long. The supressor was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle in the Falaise Pocket, Normandy in France 1944. A nice, rare relic from the famous Normandy battlefield and it comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards with pictures and diagram.
