This is a Very rare to find and in fantastic condition German 75mm KwK42 Panzergranate 39 projectile armoured piercing anti-tank round fired by a Panther tank.These were only made in much smaller numbers compered to the standard Kwk40 projectile.

The 75mm armour piercing shell projectile which is totally complete with its ballistic cap and double driving band meaning its panther tank. The projectile is in very nice condition with no base plug or markings on the bottom but is still has lots of its original black paintwork, it still has its steel colour and both of its driving bands are complete.The outer case is only very lightly pitted with no holes or damage just a few dents in the ballistic cap. The projectile is completely empty and inert it has been well cleaned and overall perfect condition for display and very rare one for any collection. The projectile was found in 1986 at the famous military fair in the village of Le Gleize which was captured by the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler. The battle was fought in December 1944 during the Ardennes Forest campaign from the Battle of the Bulge in 1944-45.. The projectile comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards.

The German forces in the village were surrounded by American forces at La Gleize, 800 survivors of the 1st Panzer SS lead by Peiper fled on Christmas Eve, leaving behind 135 armoured vehicles including the 69 tons King Tiger.
