This is a very rare find from the battlefield a pair of German cardboard internal holding cups for propelling charges fired by Lig 18 light infantry howitzer one of the cups still complete with paper maker label dated 1944. The cups retain a lot of original colour the cardboard has miss shaped slightly and is a bit stained from being buried but are still very solid they have been lightly cleaned and are perfect for display or any collection such a unusual find from the battlefield to have survived this well. The cups were recovered from rubbish pit dug either by the Germans during the battle or in battlefield clearance after the battle found near the town of osweiler in Luxemburg this area was attacked by the German 212 Volksgrenadier-Division during the battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-1945 during the Ardennes offensive and Hitler’s last offensive in the West.
