This is a very rare to find cable runner from either the bomb bay or the undercarriage bay it is complete but has damage from the crash. The cable runner is maker marked with part number it has original brown paintwork and colours it has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection the runner is 6 inches wide in size. The wire runner is from American B17 flying fortress 42-102432 named Tiny Angel of the 303rd bomber group which was shot down on the 15th August 1944 on bombing mission 229 to Wiesbaden in Germany. The part comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with pictures and crew photograph.This is a B17 there is not many items about from recovered from the crash site.

The B17 was subjected to heavy attacks by Focke wulf 190s and Messerschmitt 109s Tiny Angel was badly damaged and was shot down it exploded and crashed near Malberg in Germany. Most of the crew parachuted. Sgt Smalley's leg was shot off. He became a POW and after being treated by German doctors was repatriated back to U.S. hands.
