Very rare British made and French used medical Field surgical pannier set,fantastic condition that was found on the Somme battlefield 1916-1918.
This is a Very rare British made and French used medical Field surgical pannier set there is no date on it but as it come from the Somme area and the slight differences in manufacture this is beloved World War 1 used pannier .The pannier is in very nice condition, with the wicker and wood still retaining most of its original light brown colour with some all of its original paintwork markings still on it also with some french paint on it which means it was used by them at some point.The pannier is maker marked made in London also with famous arrow the crate does though have some dirt, discoloration, and some light damage from use and the box is nice condition considering how many times it was used. The crate has some clear black and red ink stamp markings outside the hinges are intact and in good condition both the locks still work fine and the lid opens and closes without issue on the bottom the wheels still move perfectly.The crate is 28 inches long by 13 inches wide. Inside, there is a large paper label on the lid there are some knocks and marks and some damage from use but nothing bad it is missing its carry handles. This is a solid example of this very unusual to find medical crate which is perfect for display or any collection.The crate comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards.
