This is a very large perspex framed part of a German Deutches Rotes Kreuz (German Red Cross) sack . This rare grain sack section which is a beautiful piece that retains much of its original colour and most of the eagle is still there. The sack section remains solid and intact, with no crumbling or damage, and has been mounted in a frame measuring 28 inches long by 20 inches wide making it perfect for display or a collection.The sack was recovered from a field near Trun, believed to be a pit dug by the Allies where large amounts of German equipment were discarded and buried following the Battle of the Falaise Pocket, Normandy, France, in 1944. A rare and interesting relic from the famous Normandy battlefield.
