Very large aluminium airframe section, lots of black paintwork from Messerschmitt 109/III./JG 5 number 412199,pilot was Ace Lieutenant. Jakob Norz shot down on the 16th September 1944 in Norway
This is a large airframe section from Messerschmitt 109 flown by an ace. The part which is a large aluminium airframe structure section still with lots of its original grey and green camouflage paintwork remains it has ripped and bent by the impact of the crash it is in nice clean condition for a recovered relic which retains lots of its original colour and is perfect for display or any collection the part is 17 inches long by 7 inches wide in size. This part was recovered from German Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 11./III./JG 5 Gelb 8 Work number 412199 the pilot was Ace [Leutnant] Lieutenant. Jakob Norz who was killed, shot down on the 16th September 1944 at Gåsvatnet Finnmark in Norway. The part comes with 2x A5 laminated information sheets with crash site pictures of what it looks like now and of the pilot. The part has come from a private collection which the items were collected many years ago directly from the crash sites he visited and found including surface finds or some aircraft that were dug out and recovered all these parts now available for the first time.
Six Messerschmitts of 11. Staffel took off from Høybuktmoen to intercept a large formation of Russian aircraft attacking Kirkenes. Ltn.Norz managed to shoot down an IL-2 in this air battle over Ropelv, but he received hits in the engine and rudder by the gunner (Sgt.Minejev) of the Ilyushin aircraft. He tried to reach Høybugtmoen, but the Messerschmitt was out of control and went straight down to the ground.
