German Sprengpatrone Zestor 120 gun barrel demolition charge container, recovered from a farm building by Monts-en-Bessin outside Caen in Normandy so may well have come from one of the Sturmpanzers of Abteilung 217 that fought in the area in 1944.

The Sprengpatrone Z120 was suitable for all gun calibres ranging from 12cm to 15.5cm & was designed to destroy or disable guns to prevent them from falling into enemy hands. The container held the main charge and a slow burning fuze with Detonator.

The contain is in solid condition with a large amount of the original sand camouflage paint remaining . Looks like it has suffered some fire damage to the side - likely from when the vehicle as knocked out..

The lid has unfortunately been lost to time.

Dimensions - 29.5cm tall - 14cm diameter
