This is a unusual to find from the battlefield a Glass framed part of a German Deutches Rotes Kreuz (German Red Cross) sack . This rare grain sack section which is a beautiful piece that retains a lot of its original colour and most of the eagle is still there. The sack section remains solid and intact, with no crumbling or damage, and has been mounted in a frame measuring 17 inches long by 13 inches wide with many pictures and map making it perfect for display or a collection. The sack was recovered from a field near Trun, believed to be a pit dug by the Allies where large amounts of German equipment were discarded and buried following the Battle of the Falaise Pocket, Normandy, France, in 1944. A nice and interesting relic from the famous Normandy battlefield.
