This is a German track link rubber shoe with a grooved pattern, in very well-used but largely complete condition. The rubber has some chunks missing and is heavily worn likely from prolonged use rather than damage from the half-track being hit. All maker marks and the 1942 date on the top are clearly visible. The link is solid, not breaking up or falling apart, and has been carefully cleaned, making it perfect for display or any military collection.
The rubber shoe pad comes from an SDKFZ 251 half-track of the 46th Panzer Corps and was recovered near the village of Gnilets, which was attacked during the opening offensive of Operation Citadel on 5th July 1943, as part of the northern assault on the Kursk Salient (5th-12th July 1943) in Russia. It comes with 2 x A5 laminated information cards featuring photographs.
