This is a very large and heavy part which is a Suspension bogie or rocker arm component with mid-war production casting maker numbers from from underneath American Sherman of 10th armoured Division.
The part has its large joint at one end with its maker marking numbers partly clear to see it is in relic but solid condition it has rusted solid and does not move it is rusty but solid and has been very well cleaned up it is 23 inches long and is perfect for display or any collection. The suspension part was recovered from the site of a destroyed sherman tank in the 10th armoured division in the area of the Longvilly road near Bastogne in the Ardennes Forest from the Battle of the Bulge in 1944-45. The part comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with map.
The battle took place on the 19th December 1944 when an American force under Colonel Cherry came under attack by German Panzer Lehr Division along the road between Longvilly and Bastogne the Americans lost around 200 vehicles in the battle.
