This is a very rare and totally recanisable internal structural frame from the hinged Cockpit canopy hood from the very famous shaped cockpit.
The part which is a steel made bracket which is rusty with no real paintwork remains it has very little damage from the impact of the crash which is unusual to find it still retains its shape which makes it so identafiable.The part is in rusty but solid condition and nice clean condition for a recovered relic it is perfect for display or any collection the part is 16 inches long by 7 inches wide in size and perfect for display or any collection.This very rare cockpit part is from German Messerschmitt bf 109E-4 work number 2024 of 3/Erprobungs Gruppe 210 piloted by Oberleutnant Hintze the staffel kapitan. Shot down on the 29th October 1940 at 2.30pm and the fighter crashed in Village of Pluckley, Kent during the end actions of the Battle of Britain.This part comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with pictures and diagrams.
This Messerschmitt was in combat with RAF fighters when it shot down by Seageant Burgess of Number 222 squadron in a running battle over Kent the plane crashed at Sheerlands Farm in Pluckley near Ashford in Kent. Oberleutnant Hintze bailed out wounded and was captured. The Messerschmitt was recovered in 1976 unearthed the buried engine, structural components, and pieces of the aircraft's frame.
