£45.00
Only 1 available

This is a complete German metal transport tube for a 75mm KwK 40 shell fired by German Panzer 4 tank which is complete with its lid.
The tube retains some small amount of its dark green paintwork remains with stamped markings and the tube looks battle damaged ripped and bent up by an explosion. Such tubes are unusual to find complete from the battlefield, as their thin metal construction usually causes them to rot away. This example is very solid, not breaking apart. The lid is still attached it does close but does not lock it is rusty with some rust damage and holes. It has been carefully cleaned and is perfect for display or as a nice addition to any collection. The carry case was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle, Falaise Pocket in France 1944. A nice relic from the Normandy battlefield. The case comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards with map.
