Glass framed Russian maxim machine gun ammunition belt section used by soldiers of the 5th Guards Army it was recovered from Psel River area south of Kursk, July 1943 battlefield
This is a glass-framed section Russian maxim machine gun belt recovered from the battlefield. The fabric belt is in nice condition for a recovered relic. It still retains some of the original colours. It is stained and marked, and has a bit of damage from being buried. The fabric is not breaking up or crumbling it is perfect for display or any collection and a hard to find relic from the battlefield. It is presented in a glass-fronted box frame, complete with background information and some photographs, making it perfect for display. The frame measures 9 half inches by 9 half inches in size.
The Russian 5th Guards Army in the area of the Psel River, south of Kursk on the Voronezh front. This area was defended by them against the German 2nd SS Panzer corps during the battle part of Operation Citadel the German Kursk offensive in July-August 1943 in Russia
