This is a Russian Degtyaryov or DP27 light machine gun barrel used mounted on to tanks and armoured vehicles .The barrel which is near complete it is straight but is empty of all ammunition. The barrel is deactivated by condition obviously plain to see also the barrel is blocked inside as well and no moving parts all and rusty. The machine gun part is in nice condition for a relic rusty it has been very nicely cleaned and is in very solid condition and a nice one for the collection perfect for display. This barrel would have been used by a vehicle in the 5th Guards Army recovered from the area of the Psel River, south of Kursk on the Voronezh front. This area was defended by them against the German 2nd SS Panzer corps during the battle part of Operation Citadel the German Kursk offensive in July-August 1943 in Russia.
