This is a Russian 85mm armour piercing projectile part associated with the tracer/base fuse cavity.
The projectile part which has some original black paintwork remains and on the inside its original colours it is in nice condition it is completely empty and inert it has been well cleaned and overall perfect condition for display and very nice one for any collection which is 6 inches long by 3 inches wide.The shell part was recovered from the site of a destroyed soviet T-34-85 tank. The tank was with the 1st Guards tank Army and was knocked out North of the Town of Seelow itself which they captured with infantry support on the 17th April 1945 during Seelow Heights offensive.The projectile part comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with a map.
Seelow (Town) was captured on April 17 with the 8th Guards Army infantry doing the heavy urban clearing, Katukov’s tanks of 1st Guards army flanked the town to the north and south, helping to break German resistance and secure the town by early afternoon.
