Russian 82mm mortar bomb tail section nice fired relic recovered near the village of Sachsendorf on the Seelow Heights April 1945
This is a Russian 82mm mortar bomb tail section, a fired relic that is missing one fin. This back section of the standard 82mm mortar retains its primer with maker markings and is dated 1944. The tail section was blown off during firing, and the piece is empty, inert, and naturally deactivated. Some original black paint remains, though limited, giving it a clear and authentic battlefield appearance.
The tail section is in solid relic condition. While the metal is pitted and rusty, it still retains traces of its original colour and has been carefully cleaned. It is an excellent example of a battlefield relic, ideal for display or a collection.
This mortar tail section was fired by the Russian 1st Guards Tank Army and recovered near the village of Sachsendorf on the Seelow Heights during 16-17 April 1945, part of the Berlin defence against the Red Army in the final days of the war on the Eastern Front. The item comes with an A5 laminated information card with photographs.
