Russian 76mm M1943 Regimental gun brass shell case dated 1939 recovered from the Kursk battlefield of 1943
This is a Russian 76mm M1943 Regimental gun brass shell case for a anti-armour heat round. These are unusual shell cases to find and the heat part of the shells gave it limited anti-armour capabilities.
The case looks complete but with a dent and small amount of damage around the neck from being fired. It does not retain its shiny original brass colour but still has a lot of remains of its brass colour. It has discoloured from being buried. It still has all of its stamps and markings on the bottom including the date 1939 all fairly clear to see. The primer has gone rusty and has no markings but it is in very nice condition for a battlefield recovered case. It has been nicely cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection.
The case was recovered from near the village of Plota which is south Prokhorovka ware the main tank battle was on the 12th July 1943 the site of the largest Tank battle of the war and the last great German offensive of the war in the East at Kursk in Russia.
