Large airframe structure joint, lovely condition part from Royal Navy Blackburn Skua fighter on the 9th May 1940 during the German invasion of Norway.
This is a large airframe structure joint which is steel and mag allow made. The part is nice condition very clean with lots of original colours it is rusty in the centre section it has ripped and smashed by the impact of the crash but it is still very solid not braking up or falling apart and has been very well cleaned perfect for display or any collection the part is 4 inches long by 4 inches wide in size. The part comes from Royal Navy Blackburn Skua fighter bomber work number L3055 of 800 squadron Fleet Air Arm "Ark Royal". The aircraft which was damaged by German flak anti-aircraft guns and crashed at Haugfjell, Narvik on the 9th May 1940 during the German invasion of Norway. The part comes with 2 X A5 laminated information sheets with photograph of the crash site.
Damaged by German flak the aircraft made a forced landing south east of Grøndalsvatnet at Haugfjell. The crew Midshipman C.Treen and Naval Airman A.E.T.Goble destroyed the aircraft and walked to Rombaken. They were picked up by "HMS Bedouin".
