This is a very rare wing root fairing panel which is a aluminium airframe structure panel a couple of parts still riveted together with lots of original colour with lots of its green olive drap paintwork and neutral gray paintwork which you can see a clear stripe between the two colours which is rare to find and is a nice large section of aluminium panel .The part is in nice condition it has ripped and bent by the impact crash it is in relic but solid condition and has been nicely cleaned perfect for display or any collection and is 13 inches long by 11 inches in size. The part comes with 3 x A5 laminated information sheets with pictures of the part with close up of paintwork also diagram of where the part went on the aircraft and map.The bulk of the aircraft was recovered in 2007 but these are parts recovered before the offical recovery from the ploughed field of the crash site years earlier hence the lovely condition and paintwork it still has.
The part comes from American B-26 Marauder 41-31625 ("Hell's Fury"), on a bombing mission to Schiphol Airfield when it took a direct hit and was shot down by German flak on 13th December 1943 which crashed in Aalsmeer, Netherlands.Six of the seven crewmen were killed; only the pilot, Captain Raymond P. Sanford, survived and was taken prisoner.
