This is a nice find from the battlefield and a rare to find French 75mm complete shrapnel shell The shell case is in very nice condition but with some discolor and a bit damaged the case still retains some of its brass colour with all of its maker markings dated 1917. The projectile and case are completely empty and inert.The projectile still has its brass driving band in place. Its nice brass colour the outer case is only lightly pitted with no holes or damage as it has been filled and overprinted the fuse sits in there perfectly but does not screw in the fuse which is its shiny brass colour with some maker markings they have been well cleaned and overall perfect condition for display and very rare one for any collection.The shell was found on the Somme battlefield of 1916-1918 and comes with an A5 laminated information card.
