This is a Rare souvenir dagger board which are for 3 campaigns Abyssinia the Ethiopia campaign 1940-1941 ,Western Desert-Tripoli the Libya campaign 1940-1943 Iraq-Bagdad the Iraq campaign 1941.The 3 daggers are metal made with maker markings mounted on to a ornate section of wood as a sounviner of the country’s he was in during the Desert war in North Africa.The board is in lovely condition with no damage it is 18 inches by 10 inches in size perfect for display or any collection.The board comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with what information is known about the officer and a picture of him.
The board was made by a Luftwaffe officer who fought in North Africa at some during 1941-1943.The board came from a house clearance in the city of Aachen after the man passed away what we know about him is.
Leutnant Karl-Heinz Kohlen in a Flak artillery regiment who escaped Tunisia in 1943 and fought in Italy. He survived the war captured by Americans in 1945 and returned Home to Aachen where he lived until about 2010.
