Fantastic condition rare German Tiger 1 tank armoured glass vision block recovered from a Allied post war dump site near the Tiger tank Henschel assembly plant at Kassel in Central Germany
This is a very unusual find for a recovered relic in this condition and it is a German Tiger 1 tank armoured glass vision block which comes from around the top hatch in the turret. The block still has is steel surround with the armoured glass in the middle which is complete and is not broken only scratched and marked from being buried. The surround is complete and is in nice relic but solid condition it does have a little bit of its original paintwork left it is rusty but solid and has been very well cleaned up the block is 6 inches long by 3 inches wide and perfect for display or any collection. This vision block was recovered from a Allied post war dump site near the Tiger tank Henschel assembly plant at Kassel in Central Germany after it was captured.
The vision block comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards.
Tiger I tank production at Kassel ran from July 1942 to August 1944, with 1347 built. After this Henschel built 490 Tiger IIs until the end of the war, with the last 13 produced between the 1st and 4th April 1945 and handed directly over to the German forces defending Kassel.
