Rare German paraffin coated inner cardboard box and outer cardboard sleeve for 20 Gluhzunder electric igniters dated 1944

Found in a farm outbuilding by the village of Digosville just to the east of Cherbourg on the Cotentin Peninsula Normandy. A leftover from the fighting that pushed several German units back up the Peninsula through June to the final surrender of Cherbourg on the 1st July 1944

The box is in fragile but stable condition.

A very rare box to find in cardboard (normally wooden) to have survived all this time is amazing!

The Gluhzunder 28 was a universal electric igniter used by the German army for various purposes. The standard thread allowed it to be installed into all demolition blocks and explosive charges, also use to adapt the S-mine fuze
