This is a German steel shell case fired by PAK [36]r anti-tank gun which was the captured Russian 76.2mm ZIS 3 anti-tank gun in German service and used on the Marder 2 self-propelled gun. The case is not complete part of it has rusted away but it is now very solid not braking up any more and is not falling apart at all.The case has none original markings on the base can be seen. The case has been very nicely cleaned perfect to display or any collection. This shell case was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle, Falaise Pocket in France 1944. A nice relic from the Normandy battlefield. The case comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards with map.
