Nice condition German 12cm mortar charge container complete recovered near the village of Marinovka, an area defended by the German 297th Infantry Division at Stalingrad.
This is a German 12cm mortar charge container, complete, which held Teikartuschen (powder increments) used to extend the range of mortar shells. The tin retains some of its original green paint on the exterior, with even more paint clearly visible inside. It shows light surface rust but no rust holes, and all original markings are still legible. The lid fits on and off easily. The container is solid, has been carefully cleaned, and is ideal for display or inclusion in any collection.
