This is a nice condition clean part which there is not much about from this particular German Heinkell he 111 shot down in the Battle of Britain. This a manual airflow control flap/valve assembly from the cockpit area of the aircraft which are aluminium and brass made part still with a lots of its original colour and black/red paintwork with maker label still attached to the side with only some of its markings clear to see really lovely clean part that have been very well cleaned. The part has ripped and bent up by the crash it is 8 inches long and 6 inches wide and was perfect for display or any collection. The part comes from German Heinkel He 111 number 3324, shot down by a Bristol Blenheim night-fighter on 5th September 1940-crashed in Suffolk The part comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with map and diagrams.
This German HE111 was on a nocturnal raid on London’s Tilbury Docks on September 5, 1940, the aircraft was illuminated by searchlights at 16,000 feet and shot down by a British Blenheim night fighter, resulting in a crash at 1.00am Rendlesham, near Eyke in Suffolk. The bomber crashed and killed four crew members—including the wing commander—while the pilot survived as a prisoner of war
