This is a Luftwaffe oxygen/breathing-air control panel which is part of the aircraft’s crew oxygen or breathing system. The panel was mounted to the cockpit lower sidewall by the pilot from inside this famous German bomber.  

The control panel is near complete but does have some damage but still with some original maker labels clear to read and has lots original colours.The part has been carefully cleaned also nice solid not braking up or falling apart and is perfect for display or any collection and is 7 half inches long by 5 inches wide.The control panel is from the cockpit area inside German Heinkel 111 bomber of 4/KG53 number 5536. The pilot lost his bearings, and the crew abandoned the aircraft at 01.07am on the morning of 29th October 1940 and crashed at Harwich in Essex during Battle of Britain.The part comes with 3xA5 laminated information cards with diagram picture of the part in place in the cockpit.

The crew abandoned the plane believing that they were over Holland. The plane was on a bombing sortie to bomb Gravesend Aerodrome. The plane crashed in the River Stour near Parkeston Quay at Harwich in Essex. The crew Obereldwebel K.Penzel bailed out and was captured unhurt. Oberfeldwebel H.Metzger,Unteroffizier F.Sigger,Unteroffizier J.Klitscher and Unteroffizier H.Luddecke all bailed out and were captured; slightly injured.
