This is a fantastic condition battlefield recovered a near complete German K98 rifle bayonet still in its scabbard and it comes in and out of the scabbard very easily like it should. The bayonet is missing its Bakelite handles and the blade has snapped about half way down also the scabbard has a few small rust holes but nothing bad. The whole thing is very solid not braking up or falling apart and overall it is in nice condition for a relic rusty and it has been very nicely cleaned and is in very solid condition perfect for collection and perfect for display.
The bayonet was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle in the Falaise Pocket, Normandy in France 1944. A nice rare relic from the famous Normandy battlefield. The bayonet comes with a 2 x A5 laminated information cards with map.
