This is a steel made with brass wash lovely condition which has been turned in to trench art a German 75mm KWK40 shell case which is fired by a Panzer 4 Tank the work horse and most made tank in the German Army.
This case is pretty much undamaged with no real discolour only on the bottom but the case has been over painted in gold paint so it hides any real discolour or damage. The case is in lovely clean condition with neck is undamaged but does have a few holes drilled in for the trench art. The case is complete on the bottom with most of its original markings and is dated 1942 and including the eagle. The case could be cleaned more to get the paint of if wanted to the inside of the case is its lovely original colour, this case is perfect for display and a rare one for the collection.
The case was found on an outside fair at Caen in Normandy in the early 2000’s and is a fantastic condition relic from the Normandy battlefield of the summer of 1944.The case comes with 2 x A5 laminated information cards with close up pictures of the base and many other pictures.
