German Junkers Ju 88 Airframe Section – Battle of Britain Relic (W.Nr. 3168)
A rare and large aluminium airframe structure section from a German Junkers Ju 88 bomber, accompanied by a copy of the original combat report relating to its loss during the Battle of Britain.
This substantial piece retains areas of its original grey paintwork, still clearly visible and well preserved. The structure shows evidence of crash impact, having been torn and bent on contact, yet remains solid and stable. It has been carefully cleaned while preserving its authentic relic character. Measuring approximately 24 inches by 4 inches, it is an impressive and highly displayable piece, ideal for any serious collection.

This section originates from Junkers Ju 88 A-1, Werknummer 3168, assigned to 9. Staffel / Kampfgeschwader 77.
The aircraft was shot down at approximately 16:20 on 18 September 1940 during the Battle of Britain, crashing near Vange Creek, Pitsea Marshes, Basildon, Essex.
Combat Details
After carrying out a bombing raid on railway targets in London, the aircraft was intercepted over the Thames Estuary by RAF Hurricanes. Pilots from No. 310 Squadron—including Sgt S. Plzak, F/O S. Fejfar, F/S M. Jiroudek, Sgt E. M. C. Prchal, and Sgt R. Puda—engaged the bomber.
According to combat reports, the Ju 88’s starboard engine was set on fire during the attack, causing the aircraft to lose control and crash.
