This is a lovely reganisable part of famous jet which is Landing gear linkage/bracket assembly part of the retractable undercarriage or gear door mechanism.

The part which is only lightly damaged by the impact of the crash and still with some faint remains of white internal paintwork from the undercarriage bay its self.The part has has no rust holes but does have some pitting and is rusty but not to bad at all it is nice and solid and it has been very nicely cleaned it is perfect for display or any collection it is a lovely rare bit of jet aircraft which is 8 inches long by 4 inches wide. The part comes from German Messerschmitt Me262A-2a number 170118 of 2/KG 51 which was attacked by an American P-51 Mustang. The aircraft crashed near the airfield in Bavaria where it was based after being hit while trying to land at Giebelstadt Airfield. The pilot Erwin Diekmann died in the crash on the 21st March 1945 in Germany. The part comes with 2 x A5 laminated information sheets including pictures of the airfield its self.
