This is a electrical box cover with a lovely clear to see red arrow maker marking on one edge The box cover still with lots of original black paintwork and colour and is 6 inches long and 4 half inches wide in size it has some damage from the crash and being buried but nothing bad. The box is still very solid and have been very well cleaned it is perfect condition for display or any collection. The part comes from from German Heinkel He 111H-2 work number 5481 of 3/KG53. The pilot of the bomber was severely wounded in fighter attack during a sortie to bomb London the crew baled out and the bomber crashed on Bourne Farm in Sandhurst at 3.30pm on 15th September 1940 during the hardest day in Battle of Britain.The part comes with 2 x A5 laminated information sheets with pictures and diagram.
The bomber was attacked by RAF Spitfires of Number 92 squadron including pilot officer H.P Hill. The crew Feldwebel K.Rothig and Uunteroffizier A.Lehner were both killed.Oberleutnant G.Buchner baled out and captured unhurt and Gefreiter H.Stamminger with Gefreiter H.Richter both baled out and captured wounded.
