Pair of engine case sections from one of the Junkers Jumo 211 engines on German Heinkel HE 111 Bomber work number 1619-9/KG55 shot down on the morning of the 10th-11th May 1941 on the Blitz on London
This is a pair of mag allow engine case sections from one of the Junkers Jumo 211 engines on this famous German bomber.The mag allow engine case parts which still have lovely shiny colour the parts that have been very well cleaned and are 2 half inches long they are still very solid not braking up at all and are perfect for display or any collection. This parts come from German Heinkel HE 111 Bomber work number 1619 of 9/KG55. The bomber was on a sortie to bomb London on the largest night attack by the Luftwaffe ever on the Capital city of England during the Blitz. The bomber dropped its bombs, and it was on its return home when it was shot down by an RAF night fighter. The German bomber crashed at Swifts Field on Station Road in Withyham in East Sussex at 3.30am on the morning of the 10th-11th May 1941.The parts come with 2xA5 laminated information cards.
The Crew Leutnant M.Reiser baled out and taken prisoner of war, Feldwebel A.Schied baled out and died of his injuries, Oberfeldwebel L.Huber killed, Oberfeldwebel L.Schunderer killed.
The night of May 10-11, 1941, saw the single worst night of bombing during the Blitz on London, with the Luftwaffe dropping huge numbers of high-explosive and incendiary bombs, causing massive fires (including a blaze bigger than the Great Fire of 1666) and immense damage, particularly to the City of London and Parliament, resulting in over 1,400 deaths and leaving thousands homeless.
