This is a rare large glass framed combat report with airframe sections all relating to German Junkers Ju88 shot down in Battle of Britain. The aluminium parts have been nicely cleaned and retain some of there original colour. The rare bit is the copy of the original combat report written by a Polish pilot of 303 squadron involved in shooting down of this Ju88 bomber and describes how it spun out of control crashing towards the ground, there are two copy’s of the report one in the frame and a laminated copy attached to the back so you can see it more closely.These reports when there the original ones are extremely rare to get as not many survived and when they sell these days they go for anything from around £300 up to around £600.

The parts have been mounted in to a glass fronted box frame with plane and crash information also the report and many pictures the frame is 18 inches by 18 inches in size. These airframe parts were recovered from German Junkers Ju88 A-1 work number 3168 assigned to Unit: 9 Staffel/Kampfgeschwader 77. This aircraft was downed by RAF Hurricanes from 303 Squadron at 4:20 pm on 18 September 1940. The crash occurred near Vange Creek, Pitsea Marshes in Basildon, Essex during the Battle of Britain.

Hurricanes from No.310 Squadron intercepted this aircraft over the Thames Estuary after it had bombed railway targets in London. Several pilots—Sgt S. Plzak, F/O S. Fejfar, F/S M. Jiroudek, Sgt E. M. C. Prchal, and Sgt R. Puda—attacked the bomber. According to the combat report and the recorded history, the Ju88's starboard engine was set ablaze, causing the plane to spin out of control.
