This is a lovely rare to find from a battle of Britain German Heinkel He 111 shot down in the battle of Britain. This is a back panel is from Luftwaffe retractable cockpit lamp FL 32272-2 from the cockpit of the bomber. The panel has clear to see maker number and stamp it has its very nice original colours and green paintwork and in nice condition. The part has slightly ripped and bent up by the impact of the crash it is in nice relic condition it has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. The part is 4 half inches long and 3 half inches wide. The cockpit part is from German Heinkel He 111 2/KGr126 work number 6955 which was shot down during the Blitz on London by a British Night fighter at 2.00 am on 16th October 1940, it crashed near London.The part comes with 3 x A5 laminated information card with pictures and crash site picture and recovery picture as well and detailed pictures of the lamp.
The bomber was engaged on minelaying sortie over the Thames Estuary and shot down by No264 squadron Defiant night fighter pilot officer F.D.Hughes and Sergeant F.Gash. The plane crashed and exploded at Creaseys Farm at Hutton near Brentwood at 2.00 am on 16th October 1940. Leutnant.K.Newald and Gefreiter H-J.Granetz bailed out and were captured unhurt.Unteroffizier K.Glaser and Gefreiter J.Twrdik were both killed.
