Half engine piston sleeve from inside Junkers Jumo 211 engine on German Ju87b-1 stuka dive bomber of 3/stG2, shot down 16th August 1940 during the Battle of Britain.

This is a nice find from the Battle of Britain it is a half engine piston sleeve from inside Junkers Jumo 211 engine that was recovered by fisherman in 1970’s from the English Channel near Selsey Bill. The piston sleeve is cut in half and in fantastic condition with all original colours it has no real damage from the impact of the crash but with a few dents and knocks. The piston sleeve has its original steel colour and has its maker markings and part numbers on it and it has been very well cleaned only with a bit of light surface rust and is a very nice example of a piston sleeve from this famous aircraft which is perfect for display or any collection it is 10 half inches long. The part comes with 2x A5 laminated information sheets

The sleeve is believed to be from German Ju87b-1 stuka dive bomber of 3/stG2 which was shot down at 1.00pm on the 16th August 1940 during the Battle of Britain. The plane crashed into the sea west of Selsey Bill it was shot down by RAF Hurricanes of Number 43 Squadron and 601 Squadron. The crew Unteroffizier P.Bohn and Obergefreiter J.Bader both were picked up by Royal Navy launch and captured.
