Group of nice engine parts nice clean bits, maker marked from American B17 flying fortress number 41-24432 named Danellen shot down 20th December 1942 in Normandy

This is a group of engine parts which are 2 sections of internal pipework one of them has a rubber hose with a maker marked plug at one end and a mag allow made electrical plug connector with original black paintwork and maker marked. The group of parts all still retain some of their original colours they have been cleaned but do still have some dirt and muck attached all the sections have ripped and bent by the impact of the crash and are perfect for display or any collection the parts are 2-9 inches long in size. The group of parts are from American B17 flying fortress number 41-24432 named Danellen which was on a raid over France on the 20 December 1942. The parts come with a A5 laminated information card with pictures.

B-17 Danellen was with Squadron 401, 91st Bomb Group (H) the plane was on its 11th mission, its third consecutive targeted at Romilly sur Seine Airfield & Aircraft Pool. Seventeen aircraft were dispatched. The Group encountered some flak and attacks by enemy aircraft fiercer than on any previous mission. Before reaching the target, Danellen was shot down by fighters, mostly Focke-Wulf 190s. It was seen spinning out of control at 3000 feet, with smoke pouring from between engines number 3 and 4.
