Rare Group of airframe parts from Brewster Buffalo of Finnish airforce shot down by German anti-aircraft fire on 24 October 1944 in Finland

This is a rare group of airframe parts from an aircraft there is very little about. This is a group of 3 larger size aluminium airframe sections they still retain a bit of their original colours and a bit of original green camouflage paintwork remains they have ripped and bent by the impact of the crash they are in fairly clean condition but have corroded from laying around the forest for many years they are perfect for display or any collection and are 3-9 inches long. The airframe parts were recovered from Finnish air force Brewster Buffalo B-239 fighter of HLeLv 26 (Lentolaivue 26. Fighter Squadron.26) which was shot down by German anti-aircraft fire and crashed at Äkäsjärven pohjoispää, in Finland on the 24th October 1944. The parts come with 2xA5 laminated information cards with pictures of the crash site. The parts come from a private collection which the items were collected many years ago directly from the crash sites he visited and found including surface finds or some aircraft that were dug out and recovered all these parts now available for the first time.

The pilot of the Buffalo was Lieutenant Reino Sartjarvi he was on a reconnaissance flight when he was hit by German anti-aircraft fire and started to catch fire. The aircraft plunged to the ground with its pilot bailing out unhurt. He evaded the German soldiers looking for him by hiding in a lake. After 3 days and nights of walking he finally met some locals who helped him to escape. He was transported to Kolari then in to Hospital in Haaparanta in Sweden.
