This is an authentic, glass-framed aluminium airframe section recovered from a German Ju 87B-1 Stuka dive bomber. The relic still retains traces of its original wartime finish, making it an attractive and increasingly scarce piece from one of the Luftwaffe's most recognisable aircraft.
The aluminium section was torn, bent and distorted by the impact of the crash but remains in good, solid condition. It has been carefully cleaned while preserving its original character and wartime patina.
The relic is presented in a glass-fronted box frame, complete with aircraft information, making it an excellent display piece for any aviation or Second World War collection. The frame measures approximately 7½ inches by 7½ inches.
This airframe section was recovered from the crash site of a German Ju 87B-1 Stuka dive bomber of 3./StG 77, which was shot down at approximately 2:30 pm on 18 August 1940 during the Battle of Britain by RAF fighters.
The aircraft crashed at North Barn, Chidham, Sussex, killing both members of the crew: Oberleutnant Dietrich Lehmann and Unteroffizier Hans Winiarski.
This is a genuine relic from one of the most significant air battles of the Second World War and offers the opportunity to own a tangible piece of Battle of Britain history.
