This is a glass-framed totally rare taken at the time souvenir a section of airframe fabric.The airframe fabric section still with its original gray colour and lots of the original black paintwork remains very clear to see so its from the cockpit area or part of the insignia from the fuselage or tail fin.The section is in very solid condition and has been carefully cleaned ripped off the aircraft after it crashed and is still perfect for display or any collection not braking up or falling apart

The section comes from a Sopwith Camel which crashed sometime in late 1917 or 1918 near the old British Aerodrome at Bertangles near Amiens on the Somme battlefield of 1915-1918.The section has been in a private collection on the Somme battlefield for many years now available for the first time as some items from the collection are being sold.

The part is presented in a glass-fronted frame, complete with background information and numerous photographs and map, making it perfect for display. The frame measures 15 half inches by 12 half inches in size.
