This is an authentic, glass-framed very rare starter flap control panel with its lovely maker label still attached nice and readable which has come from the cockpit dashboard of the aircraft. Also a large airframe structure section with some paintwork remains.
The aluminium panels were torn away by the impact of the crash but remains in good, solid condition. They have been carefully cleaned while preserving there original character and wartime patina.
The relics are presented in a glass-fronted box frame, complete with aircraft information also pictures and diagrams, making it an excellent display piece for any aviation or Second World War collection. The frame measures approximately 13 inches by 13 inches.

On 11 September 1940, the Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 (Werk Nummer 1641, coded "Black 6") was shot down during a fierce low-level aerial duel with a British Hurricane pilot near Newhaven. The German fighter, piloted by 13-victory flying ace Hauptmann Ernst Wiggers of JG 51, caught fire and crashed in flames at Houndean Bottom near Lewes, Sussex, tragically killing Wiggers in the impact.
